So, what’s the difference between e-money and its regular counterparts? How’s e-money different compared to cryptocurrencies? And how does e-money actually boost conversion for e-commerce business owners? Read on to find it all out in our article.

E-money: a textbook definition📖

Legally, there are three types of money. First, you have the actual physical money, the coins, and the banknotes you have in your wallet. While online payment methods are becoming increasingly popular, European citizens show a wide range of habits when it comes to cold, hard cash: while Austrians withdraw €140 each week the same figure in Norway is just €35. After the physical, you have the money that you store in your account: this is basically the digital version of the cash that you use for purchasing goods. And third, there’s e-money: this is the currency stored in your digital wallets, phone, etc. The difference between the latter two is subtle yet important: while both make payments much faster via mobile devices and other gadgets like smartwatches, e-money comes with pros and cons alike.

First off, a huge pro of e-money is its accessibility. Digital wallets like Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Barion Wallet use e-money to allow you to make payments, use services (e.g. parking), and send money within the same ecosystem in the blink of an eye. It renders carrying a wallet completely obsolete, plus it makes online shopping much easier: digital wallets let you check out with a single click (or just a handful), while bank transfers and card payments are clunkier processes.

How's e-money different?🤔

There’s no rose without a thorn, though: e-money issuers are inferior to regular banks in a sense. Here’s why. E-money issuers (like Barion) cannot hold funds without a payment institution involved. This means that the e-money you have on your Barion Wallet is actually stored on a secure safeguarding account at a different institution (in Barion’s case, OTP). The only downside is that if you’d like to access your e-money balance, you need to withdraw any given amount and wait until it gets transferred to your regular bank account. As an e-commerce business owner, payments made via Barion Smart Gateway arrive first at your Barion Wallet, and then you need to withdraw it.

Transaction fee: circumnavigating a local specialty💸

In the case of Hungary, there’s no transaction tax on e-money. Why is this a big deal? Well, any transaction you make using your regular bank account will be taxed. No matter the amount or frequency, this pertains to every single transaction. If you’re using an e-money account, however, you don’t have to pay any fee as e-money is exempt from the transaction fee. This makes e-commerce merchants’ lives much easier: if you’re wiring large sums of money frequently, this can save you millions of Hungarian forints on a yearly basis.

A word about cryptocurrencies ₿

On paper, it might seem that cryptocurrencies and e-money are the same, but there are a few subtle differences. Since both are stored digitally and are issued by private entities, it’s easy to draw an equation between the two, but their regulatory bodies reveal a clear distinction. Cryptocurrencies are decentralized and not controlled by any central authority, such as a government or a bank, and they are often used as an alternative to traditional fiat currencies, like the US dollar or the euro. More key differences between e-money and cryptocurrency include the way they are issued, the way they are used, and the level of regulation and oversight they are subject to.

As the latest trends reflect, e-money is one of the trailblazers toward a cashless society: with its ease of use and exemption from the transaction fee, it’s more than a viable alternative to hard cash. If you want more on the topic, listen Alex Kiss, CEO at Barion to what he has to say:

","hu":"

","Default":"

"},"category":{"@type":"@builder.io/core:LocalizedValue","en":"Product","hu":"Magyarul"},"descriptionpreview":{"@type":"@builder.io/core:LocalizedValue","en":"E-money is transforming the way we look at payments. Are all payment gateways made equal? Many webshop owners still think that the\n only relevant differentiator is the price point (i.e., merchant fee), but\n innovation has been transforming the payment industry. Róbert Kulcsár, CEO and\n founder at Shoprenter, sat down for a chat with our very own CEO, Alex Kiss,\n to unpack the beginnings of Barion, current expansion tactics, and how\n merchants can boost their conversion with its products.\n
\n

\n
Barion and the local market🪙
\n
\n Established as a spin-off company back in 2015, Barion has grown to become a\n power to be reckoned with. As of today, there are almost 14,000 merchants\n using Barion for processing payments out of which roughly 11,000 are Hungarian\n partners while the rest come from other CEE countries like Slovakia and the\n Czech Republic. Although expanding to other markets like Romania and Poland\n isn’t off the table, the first steps had to be made in countries where it was\n certain that Barion can find the right clients: “When a larger enterprise sets\n up shop in our region, the Czech Republic is almost always included. And since\n we want to provide our services to them, it was an obvious choice to make\n Barion available for the Czechs as well. Not to mention that this country has\n the highest amount of webshops in our region, making it a lucrative investment\n for anyone in our niche” says Kiss.\n
\n

\n
Conversion boosting with digital wallets👛
\n
\n E-commerce, just like in any other region, is constantly being pushed forward\n by relentless innovation, and Barion takes a major role in these developments.\n
\n
\n “BNPL (Buy now, pay later) could be an interesting area to explore, but when\n it comes to Hungary, its digital wallets that we need to talk about.\n Currently, about 25-30% of payments are made via digital wallets like Apple\n Pay, Google Pay, or Barion Wallet in Western Europe. Merchants love it – as\n they should. Conversion rates via these digital wallets are much higher\n compared to other payment methods. And even though this should be common\n knowledge, the Hungarian adoption rate still lags behind with around 5-10% of\n people choosing this payment method as we speak” wraps up Kiss.\n
\n

\n
Building a cashless society💸
\n
\n Like several other e-money issuing institutions, Barion’s vision is to build a\n society where cash is mostly if not entirely absent from our daily lives.\n Looking around in Europe, there are different stages of adoption, of course:\n “The UK and the Nordic states are clearly ahead of their game, with hard cash\n being less and less circulated. In some countries, cash payments are so\n insignificant that they aren’t even listed in payment statistics. Southern\n Europe, on the other hand, is pretty much the opposite. I think this might\n have something to do with how white/grey a given country’s economy is.\n Obviously, the ”whiter” it is, the easier it is for digital payments to\n flourish” adds Kiss.\n
\n

\n
Tune in for the full interview in Hungarian here:
\n<iframe\n class=\"ql-video\"\n frameborder=\"0\"\n allowfullscreen=\"true\"\n to Global Payments Report, nearly half (48.6%) of online transactions were done via digital wallets in 2021. But how does that figure translate to the Czech market? Does the pandemic have any lingering effects (positive or negative) on e-commerce and online payments in general? We’re recapping the latest trends in this article.

Online checkouts vs cash on delivery: slow shift💵

European trends show an increased preference for credit and debit cards in online payments, and this is no different in the Czech Republic either. According to a survey conducted by Barion this November, 49.5% of respondents prefer online shopping using their credit cards. While this figure is encouraging, a significant amount of shoppers still prefers bank transaction (14.5%), and the second largest group picks the rather old-school cash-on-delivery method (19.8%).

The rise of digital wallets👛

While still only the fourth most popular payment method on the list, digital wallets have made a splash this year. Compared to 2021, the number of digital wallet users has doubled: last year, only 7% chose providers like Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Barion Wallet, while the latest survey shows that this figure rose to 12.3%, getting ever so closer to bank transfers in popularity. This shows that there’s still plenty of room for improvement: with the global figure closing in at 50%, the Czech Republic (just like most European countries) is somewhat behind the latest trends in the payment industry.

Willingness to pay: fluctuations both way🗠

Market tendencies show that the spread of digital payment methods and contactless payments boosts the overall trust of customers in these novelties. The pandemic clearly helped in this tendency: in 2021, a majority of European consumers felt comfortable with raising their contactless limit above €150 per transaction. This trend can be applied to online payments as well as Czech respondents paint a similar picture: in 2022, 30% of customers were willing to spend more than 5000 CZK (205 EUR) on a single purchase, while 2021 data shows a lower figure (22%).

Most respondents (55%) shop for between 1000-5000 CZK (40-205 EUR), which is pretty much the same data point from last year (53%). Somewhat contradicting the above findings, the number of users willing to spend 1000 CZK (40 EUR) or more on a single purchase has decreased by 10% (from 25% to 15%).

Slow shift according to global trends📈

All in all, the survey shows that, even though slowly, the Czech market is catching up to global trends. The quick spread of digital wallets and the shrinking cash on delivery payments show that the safest and most modern payment methods will eventually prevail – and just by comparing data from 2021, it’s clear that the change is inevitable.

","hu":"
Ide johet akarmi To grow your webshop and to create a smoother experience for anyone spending various currencies there, virtual IBAN numbers are a definite upgrade – here’s everything you need to know about them.

What’s an IBAN number?🔢

IBAN, or International Bank Account Number is a code associated with any given bank account number. As its name suggests, it helps banks identify accounts whilst processing money transfers worldwide. It can be made up of up to 34 letters that identify the country, the check’s number, the bank’s location, and the account’s details. Whenever you’re sending money to or receiving it from a foreign account, IBAN numbers come to play.

What’s a virtual IBAN and how’s it different?🤔

Now that you’re familiar with the acronym, virtual IBAN doesn’t sound that mysterious either. Virtual IBAN numbers are issued by banks to allow the payments your business receives to be rerouted to a physical bank account.

For your business, each virtual IBAN account number you have linked to your master account allows you to accept payments in that given currency. So, you’ll have a dedicated virtual IBAN number for every currency you’re using.

So, a virtual IBAN number essentially transforms your e-money account into a payment account. This makes transfers and top-ups much easier and more familiar – especially when it comes to digital wallets like Barion Wallet.

Virtual IBAN and Barion Wallet👛

For long-time users of Barion Wallet, topping up digital wallets has been a rather error-prone process. You had to use a uniquely generated top-up code which then had to be copied in the notes field while making the transfer. This could result in mistakes during typing, which made the process even more time-consuming. With the introduction of virtual IBAN numbers, you merely need to copy-paste your virtual IBAN account number while making a money transfer for topping up your digital wallet – without having to copy any top-up codes.

Listen to our very own Sándor Kiss, CEO at Barion, explain virtual IBAN:

As of today, Barion Wallet users have dedicated virtual IBAN account numbers for EUR, USD, and HUF currencies, with CZK also on the roadmap. payment APIs can be a hassle, but not with Barion. If you’re a developer currently seeking information about Barion integration, you’ve come to the right place – this is a quick and dirty guide to the various Barion APIs and everything you need to know about them before getting down to implementation.

About Barion and the Barion API💻

If you are here, it means that you’re looking for a payment gateway provider. Barion is one of these solutions: our services include debit and credit card payments, digital wallet (like Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Barion Wallet) transactions, and much more. Based on these types, there are two major scenarios that customers can use – responsive web payment, which works on desktops and mobile browsers as well, and mobile app payments, which customers can use it for checking out using their Barion mobile app.

Let’s see now every step in the payment process and where and how the Barion API comes into the picture:

Step 1: Customer checks out in a webshop.

Step 2: The merchant’s (or webshop’s) server kicks things off by calling the /Payment/Start API. Barion returns a payment ID in turn, and the shop records the transaction.

Step 3: The merchant’s website redirects the customer to the Barion payment gateway user interface. This can either be a responsive web interface or the Barion mobile app.

Step 4: The customer enters their data and completes the payment.

Step 5: The Barion server notifies the merchant about the status of the payment. Once the notification is received, the shop has to call the /Payment/GetPaymentState API to check if the payment went through.

Step 6: The merchant’s server records the transaction result.

Step 7: The user is redirected to the merchant’s return URL.

Cool, so how do I actually integrate the API?🔧

Assuming that you possess at least intermediate back-end dev skills, and have the tools and the knowledge to call a REST API, integrating the Barion API should be a walk in the park. We highly recommend having the following:

Tinker with our self-service sandbox mode. Sure, we understand you’d love to save time and jump to coding, but we highly suggest getting familiar with testing payments via the sandbox.

Some patience. Yes, integrating might take only a few hours, but working with payment APIs requires some discipline. So, don’t jump to coding, but read through our documentation beforehand.

The Barion API communicates via standard HTTP/1.1 GET or POST requests. Any of the Barion APIs accept only GET or POST requests, so there are no universal endpoints available. When you dig deeper in the trenches, you’ll find the path to each API endpoint and their respective HTTP methods.

As for the API itself, it sends and receives all content in JSON – so make sure that the following criteria are met when you create an API request:

1️⃣JSON strings are UTF-8 encoded

2️⃣The MIME type of the request sent to the API is defined as application/json

3️⃣Content length should be explicitly specified in all HTTP request headers

Safe and secure throughout🔒

PCI DSS is the acronym you want to see before integrating any payment gateway, and Barion delivers in that category as well. The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard is an information security standard for those orgs that handle branded credit cards. This allows us to handle cardholder data, making payments compliant and more convenient at the same time. The business you’re integrating Barion for doesn’t need to have PCI DSS as Barion takes care of that part.

Wrapping up all loose end(point)s✔️

We aren’t joking when we say that Barion is made by nerds for nerds. Tons of knowledge and resources go into designing our APIs with the single goal of creating endpoints that are a joy to work with and take close zero effort to integrate. Either way, if you feel lost or just want to do more reading before getting down to the actual coding part of things, check out our super thorough documentation here.
","hu":"
Ide johet akarmi magyrul\t
","Default":"

"},"category":{"@type":"@builder.io/core:LocalizedValue","en":"Product","hu":"Magyarul"},"descriptionpreview":{"@type":"@builder.io/core:LocalizedValue","en":"A good payment gateway is one that takes minimal effort to integrate. One of the most finicky parts of picking a payment gateway is understanding\r\n exactly what merchant fee you are paying. Every provider has a slightly\r\n different approach to setting their fees, and to make things a bit trickier,\r\n most of the time it’s hard to determine at the first glance how your fee is\r\n built up. Or sometimes quite the opposite: you might see a price point that’s\r\n just too good to be true – and trust us, your hunch is right in cases like\r\n these.\r\n
\r\n
\r\n We’ll see to the bottom of it all – so if you’re in the process of opening a\r\n webshop or just want to switch payment gateways, this article will give you\r\n all the context you need.\r\n
\r\n

\r\n
What parties are involved in the payment process?🤝
\r\n
\r\n To understand what you’re paying to whom, let’s first see the various parties\r\n that charge every transaction for every single payment made on your webshop.\r\n
\r\n
\r\n The issuing bank: This is the bank of the cardholder’s owner.\r\n The amount paid to them is also known as the interchange fee. This is\r\n typically between 0.2-0.3% depending on whether it’s a credit or a debit card.\r\n
\r\n
\r\n The card scheme: The scheme provider (usually Mastercard and\r\n Visa) gets a small fee for each payment. This ranges between 0.1-0.4%.\r\n
\r\n
\r\n The acquirer: This is the organization that authorizes\r\n payments – they receive a fee for each transaction. This is also what includes\r\n the payment provider markup.\r\n
\r\n
\r\n These three combined are also called Interchange++ (or IC++), in which IC\r\n stands for the issuing bank, the first + stands for the scheme fee, and the\r\n second + stands for the acquirer’s fee. We can also call it the merchant fee\r\n as this, in an ideal world, shows exactly what percentage you need to pay for\r\n each transaction (usually between 0.5-5%).\r\n
\r\n

\r\n
What’s the catch with merchant fees?💸
\r\n
\r\n As you can see, merchant fees are pretty complex, and as such, it’s easy to\r\n sell merchants a payment gateway through an idealized example that only\r\n pertains to one part of the entire fee. So, if we take the best scenario (a\r\n domestic private debit card), your fee might be well below 1%. That’s great,\r\n but what happens if someone shops with a credit card? Or uses a company card?\r\n What if your customer has a foreign card? Your merchant fee will suddenly be\r\n much higher than what you were sold at first, and if the majority of your\r\n audience doesn’t fall into the ideal scenario, you’ll find yourself paying\r\n much more for the gateway provider you thought you would.\r\n
\r\n

\r\n
\r\n The writing is on the wall: always read the fine print and understand your\r\n audience and their buying habits. Get in touch with providers and ask for a\r\n quote that’s tailor-made for your business, and actively look for transparent\r\n providers that provide every little detail on their pricing page. If you know\r\n what type of cards are used for your transactions, it’s much easier to see\r\n through various payment gateways and their merchant fees. There’s another\r\n catch, however…\r\n
\r\n

\r\n
How are payment providers hiding their fees?🔍
\r\n
\r\n One way is to simply misunderstand what these percentages mean. When you see\r\n that a gateway provider is asking for say, a merchant fee of 2%, it almost\r\n feels negligible. You keep 98% of the payment, right? Well, things get a bit\r\n more nuanced once you check your average cart size. Let’s say your webshop’s\r\n average visitor spends 120 euros on their cart. The merchant fee for each\r\n transaction is 2.4 euros (2% of the 120€) – not too shabby, right?\r\n
\r\n

\r\n
\r\n Now let’s see a provider that charges you less than half, say, 0.75%. The\r\n merchant fee you pay in the same scenario will be 0.9 euros. The difference is\r\n minuscule. Assuming that your fictional webshop generates 120,000 euros of\r\n income each month, in scenario A, you’re paying 240 euros to the provider,\r\n while in scenario B, it’s 90 euros. 150 euros is a measurable difference\r\n already, but tricky fees don’t stop here.\r\n
\r\n

\r\n
\r\n Another way of getting a higher merchant fee is by charging you a monthly fee\r\n on top of the percentage. This is typically for webshops with a smaller volume\r\n – still, the flat fee means that you need to pay the price even if the\r\n business isn’t booming. If your webshop specializes in seasonal offers (like\r\n Christmas), this is a particularly disadvantageous setup.\r\n
\r\n

\r\n
\r\n On top of everything, providers can still add a flat fee for each transaction.\r\n For instance, you could pay 0.25 euros for each transaction made, which, again\r\n doesn’t feel much, but let’s put it into context! If your payment gateway\r\n provider charges you a monthly fee, a flat transaction fee, plus a set % for\r\n each payment, you’ll be paying much more than what the first numbers\r\n suggested.\r\n
\r\n

\r\n
\r\n Sticking to a similar scenario from earlier, imagine that in case A you pay a\r\n 10-euro monthly fee, a 0.75% merchant fee plus 0.25 euros per transaction.\r\n With a 120-euro average cart value and 120,000-euro monthly income, it’ll cost\r\n 350 euros for your business. In scenario B, you have a flat merchant fee of\r\n 0.75%, so your cost will stay the same (90€):\r\n
\r\n

\r\n
\r\n <img\r\n src=\"https://cdn.builder.io/api/v1/image/assets%2F32f148657e2646be8562eb4e6ebfa190%2F0d2b7610cf6d4a2298ce2cbdefa22256?width=500&height=500\"\r\n style=\"display: block; margin: auto; cursor: nwse-resize;\"\r\n width=\"463\"\r\n />\r\n
\r\n

\r\n
\r\n The difference is glaring (almost 4X price difference), yet both providers in\r\n our fictional scenarios will roll with the same figure on their website (0.75%\r\n merchant fee).\r\n
\r\n

\r\n
Barion Smart Gateway: no surprises, just low fees ⛩️
\r\n
\r\n No monthly fees, no extra transactional fees, just a flat percentage,\r\n custom-made for every business.\r\n <a\r\n href=\"https://www.barion.com/en/business/price-calculator/\"\r\n rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\r\n target=\"_blank\"\r\n >Our price calculator</a\r\n >\r\n comes in handy while determining your cost, but most setups cost our merchants\r\n between 0.5-1.5%. What you see is what you get: we don’t add anything on top –\r\n no disclaimers, no fine print.\r\n
\r\n
\r\n Choosing the best gateway is, of course, not just a matter of price point:\r\n it’s important to how the integration goes, what features are there, what\r\n payment types are accepted, and so on. While navigating through your options\r\n (and before committing to integrating any payment gateway), though, always\r\n keep in mind to check what’s behind catchy numbers and low percentages.\r\n
\r\n

\r\n

\r\n","hu":"

","Default":"

"},"category":{"@type":"@builder.io/core:LocalizedValue","en":"FinTech","hu":"Magyarul"},"descriptionpreview":{"@type":"@builder.io/core:LocalizedValue","en":"Transaction fees, monthly subscriptions, no flat rates - payment providers have many options to hide their fees. does your webshop need a payment gateway? What providers are out there? How do you integrate a payment gateway? What do you need for becoming a Barion merchant? Our miniseries has reached its final article, so now it’s time to assemble the definitive guide to becoming a Barion merchant, which answers the above questions – and a handful more as well.

What is a payment gateway? ⛩️

A payment gateway is the crucial link between your webshop and your customers while processing any payment. It securely validates your customers’ payment details (more on this later) and allows you to get paid the amount displayed on your website.

With plenty of “invisible” steps in the process of accepting payments, a payment gateway serves as the link between your business and your customers.

Why need a payment gateway at all? 🤷

There are several reasons why webshop owners need to integrate a payment gateway to start accepting payments. If you picture online payments as physical ones, you’ll quickly see the problem. When you are physically there in a shop to authorize any payment, you sheer presence does the trick, and there’s no need for additional authorization. The same cannot be said about online payments, though.

When your customer checks out on your webshop, there’s no telling that, just by entering any credit card data, that person is actually authorized to initiate the transaction. Payment gateways are also gatekeepers of your customers’ payment data. They serve as a middleman, but they also add a security net for every payment. In short, you need a payment gateway because of the following reasons:

Authorizes payments. Your webshop by its own is not allowed to authorize any kind of payment made by credit or debit cards or any other payment methods like bank transfers or digital wallets (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Barion Wallet) transactions.

Keeps things secure. In an age when online transactions are getting increasingly exposed to fraudulent activities, webshop owners need to think about payment safety as well. The easiest way is to integrate gateways that take care of monitoring fraudulent behavior and if needed, block transactions.

Provides a smooth experience. Payment gateways generally make the otherwise complex process of online payments quick and easy. They take little effort to integrate and come with additional benefits like analytics tools, several payment options, and more.

Barion Smart Gateway as your payment gateway ✨

With several gateway providers out there, Barion Smart Gateway offers a payment gateway that’s unique in its own right. Merchant fees (this is what you pay per transaction) start from 1.5% and can be as little as 0.5%. Integrating Barion Smart Gateway is a smooth process as well. If you’re using a popular e-commerce platform like Shopify or WooCommerce, you can simply use a pre-made plugin for that – or if you’re thinking about a custom integration, your developer will love it to bits.

Barion Smart Gateway is known for its low-effort integration: even if you go with the custom option, you can set everything up and hit the ground running in mere days.

As of today, Smart Gateway supports offsite gateway integration: this means that your customers will be directed to a secure page for entering payment data, and then redirected to your webshop once the payment goes through.

Hit the ground running by opening your Barion Wallet 👛

To have a functioning Barion Smart Gateway integration, you’ll need to open a shop in your Barion Wallet, and tick a number of prerequisites before getting it approved. These might feel like a hassle, but if you run a business that checks all the boxes by default, meeting Barion’s requirements won’t be that laborious. Here are a few highlighted items:

Make sure you open a Business account.:This will let you open one or more shops and start accepting payments. Personal accounts do not come with these functions usually.

Currency: You need to select one currency (EUR, USD, HUF, or CZK) for your Barion Wallet. Once you register, you can add additional currencies as well.

Shop category: Certain categories don’t make the cut at Barion (adult content, gambling, crypto etc.), while others require an extra round of authorization. If you sell alcoholic beverages, dietary supplements, drugs, or prescription medicine, be prepared to present any authorization document you have.

Expected income and average cart size: Providing these figures will determine which category you fall into according to our Merchant Risk Control Policy. This will affect how we verify you and your business once submitting your registration form, and will also influence your

Percentage of non-EU cards: This is an often overlooked bit of your shop registration form. Knowing this figure will help us determine your merchant fee – basically, the higher the percentage, the higher the fee as well.

Consent management: Since European regulations demand every Europe-based business to have consent management information, it’s highly likely that you already have this in place, but double-check just to be sure.

Special activities: If you sell alcoholic beverages, dietary supplements, drugs, or prescription medicine, be prepared to present any authorization document you have. For the full list, please refer to this article.

Terms & Conditions: Be sure to include a line in your General Terms and Conditions about your business accepting Barion as a payment provider.

Consent management: Since European regulations demand every Europe-based business to have consent management information, it’s highly likely that you already have this in place but double-check just to be sure.

Barion Pixel: We take payment fraud very seriously, and that’s why we make the implementation Barion Pixel mandatory for every shop owner.

These points do not include the entire checklist, so be sure you meet every requirement before ticking all the boxes. If everything is set, there’s only one more thing to do: verification.

Open a shop 🛒

Now that you have your Barion Wallet, it’s time to create your first shop. Apart from the self-explanatory fields, there are a few things you should pay extra attention to:

Give accurate information. For fields like expected income, average basket value, or percentage of non-EU cards, it’s wise to give a realistic figure as it influences your merchant fee. Our price calculator comes in handy for getting a ballpark on how your business’ key figures affect your merchant fee.

Complete the To-do list. You’ll need to complete a few extra steps to be able to check these boxes. Be sure to only check them if you’re actually done with them as these are mandatory items.

Save as a draft. You don’t need to provide every little detail at once. If you need some time for things like placing the Barion logo on your website, just save your shop form as a draft and go back to editing whenever ready.

About your Barion Pixel integration👾

Barion Pixel comes with a few extra perks that help your webshop grow. You can go with Base Barion Pixel or Full Barion Pixel along with your Barion Smart Gateway integration – here are the key differences:

Base Barion Pixel

Implementing this code snippet gets you fraud detection for your webshop. Your customers can shop and check out while you can rest assured that every single transaction is monitored closely, and fraudulent activities are immediately rejected and reported.

Full Barion Pixel

This code opens a whole world of possibilities. By logging e-commerce events (like adding or removing items to and from a basket, etc.), Pixel does not only give you more sophisticated fraud detection but also comes with two extra perks. First, it unlocks Barion Metrics. This advanced analytics tool gives you a detailed view of your customers’ behavior, helping you understand your sales funnel and improve your sales and marketing efforts altogether.

Second, if you implement Full Barion Pixel, you may become eligible for a merchant fee as low as 0.50%. Other factors also influence this percentage, so make sure you get in touch with us to calculate your exact merchant fee upon implementing Full Barion Pixel.

To read more on Barion Pixel and its integration, check out this article here.

How’s the approval process happening? ✅

Depending on your business profile, there are two ways we can approve your shop registration. At face value, everyone needs to complete step number one:

Topping up your Barion Wallet: You’ve just submitted your registration form, but your freshly opened Wallet doesn’t yet store a dime in it – so you need to upload any amount to it. Use a wire transfer registered to your company’s name, and include your top-up code in the notes section, and you should be good to go. We use this step as a simplified verification of your business. Just look for the top-up submenu, select wire transfer, and then the following prompt will show your code:

Normally, topping up your Wallet does the trick, but in certain cases, there’s an extra step:

KYC: Aka Know Your Customer. This is a crucial step to filter out money laundering and financial crime-related activities. If we deem it necessary, we’ll reach out to you and notify you that a video call is necessary to get the approval. You don’t need to book an appointment: just sign in for video verification on any workday between 10-12 in the morning. Our agents are available and will get to you in a minimal waiting time.

If you’re verified via the simplified method (topping up your Barion Wallet), you’ll see that your Barion Wallet will be limited to a certain amount. We can remove these via KYC as well – the simplified method is there so that you can get approved faster, but to get the most out of your Barion Smart Gateway integration, video verification is highly recommended from the get-go. As for limits in particular, we’ll detail all there is to know about them in an upcoming post.

Time to go live 🚀

If you've got through steps 1 to 4, you’ll shortly receive a confirmation email from us. But apart from that, you’re pretty much good to go at this point! With your approved shop, customers can start paying via Barion Smart Gateway. And how long does the approval process last? While it does require a few manual checks, most of our merchants’ shops get approved within 1-2 working days.

I got approved! What’s next? 🤔

With an approved shop and a functioning Barion Smart Gateway integration under your belt, you can start collecting revenue! Payments made via Barion will pop up in your Barion Wallet, and you’ll be able to withdraw these either manually or automatize them for more comfort.
","hu":"

","Default":"

"},"category":{"@type":"@builder.io/core:LocalizedValue","en":"Product","hu":"Magyarul"},"descriptionpreview":{"@type":"@builder.io/core:LocalizedValue","en":"From wallets are becoming more than just hip apps we can flash while paying at our local shop. But what is a digital wallet, how does it work, and why do webshop owners like yourself should not even hesitate to accept payments via them? And, most importantly, how do they help you get better conversion rates? Explore all these and more in our extensive guide about digital wallets.

What is a digital wallet? 👛

A digital wallet is an online payment tool. It’s basically a virtual duplicate of an existing physical credit or debit card – although sometimes there might be only a digital version of it. It comes in various shapes and sizes, but in general, most digital wallets can be accessed via an app on your phone or other gadgets.

Why do customers prefer digital wallets? 🤷

Let’s start with the obvious: the greatest perk of a digital wallet is that you don’t need to carry your cards around. A digital wallet can store multiple credit and debit cards, and even more: e-tickets, vouchers, and documents can be all squeezed into it.

But there’s much more to it. When it comes to online payments, it literally takes no more than a single tap or click to make a payment. This beats traditional credit cards by a mile, as your customers don’t need to enter their card details anymore, nor do they have to go through any verification process. Let’s not forget about the fact that certain digital wallets don’t even require your customers to have a physical bank involved in the process of maintaining a bank account. This helps you as a business owner connect with potential customers even easier.

On top of these, there’s the matter of security: even if a phone (or whichever device stores credit card details) is lost or stolen, said credit card details cannot be accessed as they are not stored in the app itself. This brings us to our next question:

How do digital wallets work? ⚙️

A digital wallet – and the card details stored in it – uses software to wire payment details from your bank account connected to the given card to your online store. It uses a method called tokenization: your customer enters their credit card details in the digital wallet’s app, which translates sensitive data (in this case, card details) to non-sensitive data (this is called a “token”). Thanks to this method, whenever this customer checks out in your webshop, by choosing their preferred digital wallet, they can initiate the payment with a single click or tap.

What type of digital wallets are there?📱

There are three types of digital wallets, and their different features are clean-cut.

Closed wallet: These wallets are issued by a company, usually an e-commerce store, and while the customer can top up their wallets, they can only spend their funds within the closed ecosystem of the issuing company. One such example would be Amazon Pay.

Semi-closed wallet: These wallets allow customers to pay online or offline only at certain merchants. You as a business owner first need to enter an agreement with the wallet issuer. Semi-closed wallets also come with a limited coverage area, so businesses with cross-country audiences will not see many benefits of adopting such payment methods.

Open wallet: These wallets are issued by banks through banks or companies. This type of wallet is the most widespread, and most of the well-known providers' issue open wallets.

Which digital wallets are most widely used? 🔝

There are plenty of options out there, with most providers either exclusively issuing digital wallets, or having them as part of their wider product range. The most prominent ones are as follows:

Google Pay: In 2019, Google Pay logged a transactional value of 110 billion USD.

Apple Pay: Not counting China, Apple Pay has the largest transaction volume globally.

AliPay: Processing over a whopping 17 trillion USD, they are the largest mobile payments platform in the world, mostly available in China but not in Europe.

PayPal: A long-time player in the industry, PayPal has over 400 million active user accounts.

Barion Wallet: A trusted player in the CEE region, Barion Wallet currently has over 400k users.

There are several other major players, but most of them either don’t have a foothold in Europe (like Venmo) or focus on a specific market (like WeChat).

Why does my webshop need to accept digital wallets?🤷

This is sort of a no-brainer, and we’d go as far as to say that the question is not why, but when. According to the Global Payments Report, almost half (48.6%) of e-commerce transactions (value-wise) were done via digital wallets in 2021. Credit cards come in at second place – with 21%. The jury is still out as to how it changes by 2025, but the earlier figure is expected to grow to 52.5%. But it's not only market trends we can point to as a reason for adopting digital wallets.

According to Big Commerce, digital wallets can triple your conversion rate. There's no big secret here: your customers often find themselves in comfy situations when pulling out a credit card and entering all its details is a hassle. Who wouldn't want a single gesture to authorize payment in cases like this? Naturally, digital wallets decrease the number of abandoned carts, thus boosting your conversion.

At this point, having digital wallets as a payment option on your website is no longer just nice to have. On the contrary, it’s a lifeline to your business as customers rapidly ditch other online payment methods in favor of their favorite digital wallets.

Add the previously explored market trends, and it’s easy to admit that global trends show growing adoption rates everywhere – so even though European numbers stay relatively low, customer needs to paint a different picture. Digital wallets are conquering the world of online payments, and staying on the outside can be costly for any business in the long run.

Digital wallets and Barion Smart Gateway ⛩️

If you are planning to integrate Barion Smart Gateway as a payment gateway for your webshop (or you already have it), you’ll be able to offer digital wallet payments to your customers. Barion currently supports payments via Google Pay, Apple Pay, and Barion Wallet, covering the bulk of digital wallet payments in Europe.

Barion also has its own digital wallet solution, called Barion Wallet, which has over 400k users. Plus, Barion Wallet is being used for 3% of transactions at certain companies, making it a popular payment choice at checkout. With this tool, customers can perform most account-related actions for free: registering, saving credit cards, sending money to other Barion Wallets, and making online payments all come without a price tag. As for express top-ups (1%) and wire transfers (0.5 EUR), there’s only a minimal fee charged.
","Default":"

","hu":"

"},"category":{"@type":"@builder.io/core:LocalizedValue","en":"World of Barion Pixel je prakticky totéž, ale na rozdíl od Meta Pixelu přichází s několika dalšími výhodami, které pomůžou vašemu internetovému obchodu v růstu.

Společně s integrací platební brány Barion Smart Gateway můžete použít dvě možnosti pixelů z dílny společnosti Barion: Base Barion Pixel nebo Full Barion Pixel:

Base Barion Pixel

3️⃣ Nyní můžete vložit celý fragment kódu do kódu svého webu.

We\n wrote extensively about how you can find the right payment gateway for your\n business – but now let’s see a tiny yet mighty option that can boost your\n payment gateway integration.\n
\n

\n
What is Barion Pixel?👾
\n
\n Have you heard about Meta Pixel (formerly known as Facebook Pixel)? One of the\n most widespread “pixels”, Meta Pixel is a tiny JavaScript code that lets you\n track visitor activity on your website. Barion Pixel is almost the same thing,\n but unlike Meta, it comes with a few extra perks that help your webshop grow.\n You can go with Base Barion Pixel or Full Barion Pixel along with your Barion\n Smart Gateway integration – here are the key differences:\n
\n

\n
Base Barion Pixel
\n
\n Implementing this code snippet gets you fraud detection for your webshop. Your\n customers can shop and check out while you can rest assured that every single\n transaction is monitored closely, and fraudulent activities are immediately\n rejected and reported.\n
\n

\n
Full Barion Pixel
\n
\n This code opens a whole world of possibilities. By logging e-commerce events\n (like adding or removing items to and from a basket, etc.), Pixel does not\n only give you more sophisticated fraud detection but also comes with two extra\n perks. First, it unlocks Barion Metrics. This advanced analytics tool gives\n you a detailed view of your customers’ behavior, helping you understand your\n sales funnel and improve your sales and marketing efforts altogether.\n
\n
\n Second, if you implement Full Barion Pixel, you may become eligible for a\n merchant fee as low as 0.50%. Other factors also influence this percentage, so\n make sure you get in touch with us to calculate your exact merchant fee upon\n implementing Full Barion Pixel.\n
\n

\n
How do I implement Barion Pixel? 🔧
\n
\n Barion Pixel is pretty simple to implement – we’ll detail the steps here, but\n if you ever need help, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us. To get started,\n first you need to implement Base Barion Pixel. This is compulsory for any\n merchant setting up shop and accepting payments via Barion Smart Gateway.\n
\n
\n 1️⃣First, look for your Barion Pixel ID. This is a 12-character code\n (BP-xxxxxxxxxx-00) that you can find under the Actions/Details submenu. Copy\n this code.\n
\n
2️⃣Next, insert your unique Pixel ID into the sample code found here.
\n
\n 3️⃣Now you can insert the entire code snippet into your website’s code. It\n should go into the <head> tag, but make sure you check exactly which\n implementation type is needed for your site.\n
\n

\n
Upgrading to Full Barion Pixel 🔼
\n
\n If you want to upgrade to Full Barion Pixel, the steps are a little bit\n different and might change from merchant to merchant, but overall, the\n following need to be done:\n
\n
1️⃣Barion Base Pixel is implemented on your website.
\n
\n 2️⃣Start with the Content View event. You can later add other events as well,\n but this is typically the most often used one.\n
\n
\n 3️⃣Create a JS object that contains event parameters. Here’s an example\n containing the Content View event:\n
\n
\n <img\n src=\"https://cdn.builder.io/api/v1/image/assets%2F32f148657e2646be8562eb4e6ebfa190%2F2f3f2f0c477a4ab996b392c25fb13ea8?width=1080&height=900\"\n />\n
\n

\n
\n 4️⃣You can then insert this code snippet into your JS code either into a script\n tag if you’re using a simple HTML page, or by creating a template of the code\n if you run your site based on a template system.\n
\n
\n 5️⃣If that’s settled, you need to call the bp function as shown below. This\n allows us to review and approve your implementation.\n
\n
\n <img\n src=\"https://cdn.builder.io/api/v1/image/assets%2F32f148657e2646be8562eb4e6ebfa190%2F89d4682760cc45c1926df265550fcf92?width=1080&height=900\"\n />\n
\n

\n
\n This should help you hit the ground running – however, to get the most out of\n Full Barion Pixel, there are plenty of other events you can implement. For the\n entire list, please refer to the Barion Pixel API reference documentation.\n
\n

\n
Do I actually need Barion Pixel? 🤷
\n
\n In short, you definitely need Base Barion Pixel, as its implementation is\n compulsory for anyone using Barion Smart Gateway. As for Full Barion Pixel,\n its implementation is not mandatory, but its perks make it an absolute\n no-brainer. It requires a little bit more tinkering with your site’s code, but\n you can integrate it within hours, and in exchange, you’ll get an advanced\n analytics tool plus, possibly, lower merchant fees as well. Sound good? Become\n a Barion merchant today:\n
\n

\n","hu":"

","Default":"

"},"category":{"@type":"@builder.io/core:LocalizedValue","en":"Product","hu":"Magyarul"},"descriptionpreview":{"cs":"Pokud máte internetový obchod, jedním z prvních kroků je najít a integrovat vhodnou platební bránu, abyste mohli přijímat platby kartami. But to accept payments, you’ll need a payment gateway that processes\n every single payment made on your website. Let’s dive into how payment\n gateways exactly work, and why it’s crucial to have one in order to keep your\n business growing.\n
\n

\n
What is a payment gateway? ⛩️
\n
\n A payment gateway is the crucial link between your webshop and your customers\n while processing any payment. It securely validates your customers’ payment\n details (more on this later) and allows you to get paid the amount displayed\n on your website.\n
\n
\n With plenty of “invisible” steps in the process of accepting payments, a\n payment gateway serves as the link between your business and your customers.\n
\n

\n
Why need a payment gateway at all? 🤷
\n
\n There are several reasons why webshop owners need to integrate a payment\n gateway to start accepting payments. If you picture online payments as\n physical ones, you’ll quickly see the problem. When you are physically there\n in a shop to authorize any payment, you sheer presence does the trick, and\n there’s no need for additional authorization. The same cannot be said about\n online payments, though.\n
\n
\n When your customer checks out on your webshop, there’s no telling that, just\n by entering any credit card data, that person is actually authorized to\n initiate the transaction. Payment gateways are also gatekeepers of your\n customers’ payment data. They serve as a middleman, but they also add a\n security net for every payment. In short, you need a payment gateway because\n of the following reasons:\n
\n
\n Authorizes payments. This is sort of a no-brainer. Your\n webshop by its own is not allowed to authorize any kind of payment made by\n credit or debit cards or any other payment methods like bank transfers or\n e-wallet (Apple Pay and Google Pay) transactions.\n
\n
\n Keeps things secure. In an age when online transactions are\n getting increasingly exposed to fraudulent activities, webshop owners need to\n think about payment safety as well. The easiest way is to integrate gateways\n that take care of monitoring fraudulent behavior and if needed, block\n transactions.\n
\n

\n
\n <img\n src=\"https://cdn.builder.io/api/v1/image/assets%2F32f148657e2646be8562eb4e6ebfa190%2Fcdd0bebf76104d9f94400729ee7565b9?width=1080&height=900\"\n />\n
\n

\n
\n Provides a smooth experience. Payment gateways generally make\n the otherwise complex process of online payments quick and easy. They take\n little effort to integrate and come with additional benefits like analytics\n tools, several payment options, and more.\n
\n
\n Once you get started with payment gateways, it’s time for you to decide which\n type of integration you prefer. While picking the right one, be mindful of the\n following:\n
\n
\n How much developer work does it require? Some need less, and\n some need more, but either way, make sure you have the resources before\n committing to any of the implementations.\n
\n
\n How about PCI compliance? The Payment Card Industry needs you\n as a merchant to pass a Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) depending on the\n type of gateway integration.\n
\n
\n Can I customize its appearance? If branding is important for\n you, you’ll like certain integration types better than others.\n
\n

\n
What types of payment gateways are there? 🗒️
\n
\n If you cleared the above questions, you can move on to leafing through the\n various payment gateway types. Generally speaking, there are 4 different\n approaches to gateway implementations:\n
\n
\n Offsite gateway: This is a pretty common type of payment\n gateway integration. After checking out on your website, the customer is\n directed to a secure page where they can enter their payment details. Once the\n payment is authorized, your customer is redirected to your webshop. This\n solution uses the payment gateway provider’s branding elements, although it\n does allow for basic customization via CSS. No PCI SAQ is required.\n
\n
\n In-line gateway: This is also a widespread implementation. As\n its name suggests, your customers can pay for your products on your own\n webshop. On top of that, this solution gives you a wide range of customization\n options on your gateway integration, allowing you to fit the gateway in the\n webshop design-wise as well. PCI SAQ A is required.\n
\n
\n Onsite gateway: There’s just a tiny difference between\n in-line and onsite gateways. The latter gives you the same implementation,\n except that it appears in the form of a pop-up. It basically embeds an HTML\n page (in this case, the secure page for payment) in your webshop. PCI SAQ A is\n required.\n
\n
\n API-only gateway: This gets you the smoothest integration as\n checkout looks exactly as if it were done on your page. Your customers won’t\n get to peek under the hood, and you can personalize this page as much as you\n want. Looking at developer working hours, this is also the most resource-heavy\n option. PCI SAQ D is required.\n
\n

\n
How do payment gateways work? ⚙️
\n
\n Now that you know everything about the what and the why, it’s time to delve a\n bit deeper and understand the how. So far, we’ve introduced the two ends of\n the equation – you, the merchant, and your customers – with the payment\n gateway in the middle. As we zoom in, however, you’ll see there are a few more\n parties involved in the process:\n
\n
\n The acquirer: This is the bank or payment institute that\n hosts your credit card’s processing account.\n
\n
\n Card scheme: This is a paid service (like Visa or Mastercard)\n that sets the rules and infrastructure for processing payments.\n
\n
\n The issuer: This is the bank that issued your customer’s\n credit card.\n
\n
\n As you see, from the moment of checkout all the way to accepting the payment,\n there are many steps:\n
\n

\n
\n <img\n src=\"https://cdn.builder.io/api/v1/image/assets%2F32f148657e2646be8562eb4e6ebfa190%2F3dd55e9472c54b37bcf9bea941aa58f3?width=1280&height=900\"\n />\n
\n

\n
\n While this might seem like a lot, it takes about 2 seconds. The entire process\n with its 10 steps is done without your customer noticing anything about it.\n Your payment gateway plays a crucial role both ways: it sends the payment\n details ahead to the issuer for approval, and then receives it back, allowing\n you to actually get paid for the goods you sold a few seconds before.\n
\n

\n
Why choose Barion Smart Gateway as a payment gateway? ✨
\n
\n With several gateway providers out there, Barion Smart Gateway offers a\n payment gateway that’s unique in its own right. Merchant fees (this is what\n you pay per transaction) start from 1.5% and can be as little as 0.5%.\n Integrating Barion Smart Gateway is a smooth process as well. If you’re using\n a popular e-commerce platform like Shopify or WooCommerce, you can simply use\n a pre-made plugin for that – or if you’re thinking about a custom integration,\n your developer will love it to bits.\n
\n
\n Barion Smart Gateway is known for its low-effort integration: even if you go\n with the custom option, you can set everything up and hit the ground running\n in mere days.\n
\n
\n As of today, Smart Gateway supports offsite gateway integration: this means\n that your customers will be directed to a secure page for entering payment\n data, and then redirected to your webshop once the payment goes through.\n
\n

\n
\n Sound good? With Barion Metrics 2.0 now available, you’ll get even more out of your Barion Pixel integration. Read on to find out how.

One dashboard above all

The first thing recurring guests of Barion Metrics will notice that we completely overhauled the dashboard. Next to visitor, user, and purchase count, we added total revenue plus visitor device types above the fold. This snap overview is followed by a graph that tracks unique visitor count against session count. Your dashboard is then wrapped up with a list of the most frequently searched terms within your webshop. But that’s not all – the best thing about the reimagined start screen is that you can now set any custom interval.

“One of the biggest pains our merchants had was not being able to set custom dates”, explains Daniel Zsoldos, the product owner and head of data behind the launch. “Now a user can select either a preset interval or customize it entirely by picking the start and end dates.”

Improved sales funnel and product insights

By recording and analyzing every single e-commerce event on a given website, Metrics is now capable of breaking down your sales funnel step-by-step. So, all the way from visitor count to conversion rate, you’ll get a tidy graph that illustrates how your sales funnel shapes up.

“We want our users to have a helicopter view of their product range and its performance. That’s why Barion Metrics displays the most popular categories and products, as well as the items placed to or removed from the basket most frequently” says Zsoldos. “The point is, with better insight about your own products, you can make better decisions. If you see that a product doesn’t perform well, you might want to promote it via a campaign or remove it from the range. You call the shots, we give you the data.”

Getting started with Metrics

Accessing Metrics is probably the only thing that hasn’t changed with the release of the new version. As a merchant, once you registered your shop, all you need is integrating Full Baron Pixel. This tiny code snippet will start collecting data from your webshop, and through Barion Metrics, you’ll see all the invaluable insights at hand. With Barion Metrics comes another perk: merchants integrating Full Barion Pixel also enjoy a merchant fee of 0.99% or even less.

“While Base Barion Pixel is mandatory, it only gives fraud protection for your webshop. By integrating Full Barion Pixel, you kill two birds with one stone. A tiny javascript code gets you lower merchant fees and full access to the freshly released Barion Metrics” adds Zsoldos.

Want to get advanced analytics via Barion Metrics? Obviously, you want to ensure that your data, money, and transactions are conducted in a secure, encrypted manner – and that is also in our best interest. After all, if we at Barion cannot guarantee that security, why would you entrust your money to us?

The importance of PCI DSS

For that reason, our products comply with the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard (DSS), to ensure that your transaction and bank card data are as secure as possible. To comply with the expectations and regulations of the various card issuers (Mastercard, Visa, Amex, and so on), we need to take a very close look at the cipher suites we use when you connect via HTTPS to our APIs or our secure site – and of course, this applies to both inbound and outbound traffic (that is, also when we are sending data to you). The cipher suites encrypt the data during the whole information exchange process, with the decryption happening both at your end and at ours. This way, those extremely important digits that give access to your bank account are protected during the whole duration of the transaction, ensuring that no outsider can gain access to the encrypted information flow.

While these standards, encryption/decryption methods, and relevant identification protocols may seem a hassle on the surface, we want to follow and implement them, and not only because these are required by the card industry. If we would not do so, well, paying through Barion just might result in a very happy scammer/phisher messaging you that all your banking data are belong to them. And we imagine that you would like that even less than we do.

Our solution

To avoid such problems, we are updating both our incoming and our outgoing Transport Layer Security (TLS) encryption starting June 1, 2023, in a twofold way. First, we are routing most of our outbound and inbound traffic (already around 98% of our total) to use TLS 1.3. Second, we are ensuring that our TLS 1.2 connections use the accepted, trusted cipher suites, while the TLS 1.2 cipher suites that are deemed weak, will be discarded.

This ensures the cipher suites we are using conform to the latest industry recommendations, in both directions of the communication. Also, if we did not ensure that our side also complies with these industry regulations, all Barion transactions would flat-out vanish into the digital void.

Our TLS 1.2 ciphers

From June 1, 2023, onwards, our Cloudflare-protected endpoint checks for and employs the following encryption suites when sending or receiving communication using TLS 1.2:

\t• TLS_AES_128_GCM_SHA256,

\t• TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384,

\t• TLS_CHACHA20_POLY1305_SHA256,

\t• ECDHE-ECDSA-AES128-GCM-SHA256,

\t• ECDHE-RSA-AES128-GCM-SHA256,

\t• ECDHE-ECDSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384,

\t• ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384,

\t• ECDHE-ECDSA-CHACHA20-POLY1305,

\t• ECDHE-RSA-CHACHA20-POLY1305

You can check the details at Cloudflare here.

If you are already using these cipher suites, you have nothing further to do at this point.

Unsupported TLS 1.2 cipher suites

If you are using any of the following TLS 1.2 cipher suites, you need to switch to using one of the above, supported TLS 1.2 suites, or switch to TLS 1.3:

\t• TLS_ECDHE_ECDSA_WITH_AES_128_CBC_SHA

\t• TLS_ECDHE_ECDSA_WITH_AES_128_CBC_SHA256

\t• TLS_ECDHE_ECDSA_WITH_AES_128_CBC_SHA256

\t• TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_128_CBC_SHA

\t• TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_128_CBC_SHA256

\t• TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA

\t• TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA384

\t• TLS_RSA_WITH_AES_128_CBC_SHA

\t• TLS_RSA_WITH_AES_128_CBC_SHA256

\t• TLS_RSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA

\t• TLS_RSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA256

\t• TLS_RSA_WITH_AES_128_GCM_SHA256

\t• TLS_RSA_WITH_AES_256_GCM_SHA384

If you want to keep using Barion after May 31, 2023, ensure that your system uses the appropriate TLS 1.2 protocols (or switch to TLS 1.3). If you need some time for things like placing the Barion logo\n on your website, just save your shop form as a draft and go back to editing\n whenever ready.\n
\n

\n
Step 3: Get approved ✅
\n
\n Once you submit your shop registration form, we need to check every little\n detail manually. This is when we run risk and compliance rounds to make sure\n you can become a Barion merchant. On top of that, one of the following will\n apply to you to get the final approval:\n
\n
\n Simplified verification: This method only needs you to top up\n your Barion Wallet with a small amount of money using your bank account by\n <a\n href=\"https://secure.barion.com/TopUp/Wire\"\n rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\n target=\"_blank\"\n >wire transfer</a\n >. This renders any additional paperwork or identification process obsolete,\n making approval much faster and smoother.\n
\n
\n Enhanced verification: This method entails a video\n verification of your identity. This is not a mandatory step: it’s only\n necessary if you’d like to kill off the limits on your Barion Wallet. Read\n more on this due diligence process and limits in general\n <a\n href=\"https://www.barion.com/en/help/business/limits/\"\n rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\n target=\"_blank\"\n >here</a\n >.\n
\n

\n
Step 4: Nerds, this one is for you 💻
\n

\n
\n <img\n src=\"https://cdn.builder.io/api/v1/image/assets%2F32f148657e2646be8562eb4e6ebfa190%2Fbe711ee0336648919cf4f834be5d807b?width=1080&height=900\"\n />\n
\n

\n
\n We’ll cover all the different types of Barion Smart Gateway integration in an\n upcoming article, but until then, we need to drop a few lines for Barion\n integrators as well. To set up shop with us, there are three mandatory and one\n highly recommend step that you should do:\n
\n
Integrate Barion Smart Gateway
\n
\n Sort of a no-brainer, huh? We put all our knowledge into this, so we aren’t\n joking when we say the integration process is ridiculously easy. Depending on\n your needs, it might take as little as a few hours to set up Smart Gateway.\n We’re soon publishing an article on the details, but until then, just refer to\n our documentation\n <a\n href=\"https://docs.barion.com/Getting_started\"\n rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\n target=\"_blank\"\n >here</a\n >.\n
\n
Integrate Barion Pixel
\n
\n If Integrating Smart Gateway is easy, you’ll set up\n <a\n href=\"https://www.barion.com/en/business/barion-pixel/\"\n rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\n target=\"_blank\"\n >Barion Pixel</a\n >\n with your eyes closed and hands tied as it’s a single snippet of a code. Base\n Barion Pixel collects and sends data to help prevent fraud, while Full Barion\n Pixel grants your webshop lower fees and advanced analytics. To get a shop\n approved, implementing Base Barion Pixel is mandatory.\n
\n
Tweak your integration with the Barion API
\n
\n Your integration might be ready at this point, but if you want any tweaks done\n to it (withdraws, history, etc.), you can do it via the Barion API. All comms\n should be done via HTTP1.1 GET or POST requests. Want more on APIs? Check out\n <a\n href=\"https://docs.barion.com/Calling_the_API\"\n rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\n target=\"_blank\"\n >this wiki page</a\n >.\n
\n
Try our sandbox environment
\n
\n Create a dummy account at https://secure.test.barion.com/, and try out all the\n functions with Monopoly money. Go through the registration flow and check out\n how Barion Wallet looks like under the hood – it’s available 24/7, and you\n don’t need any verification rounds to use it. And as always, if you want more\n of the nitty-gritty, head over to our\n <a\n href=\"https://docs.barion.com/Sandbox\"\n rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\n target=\"_blank\"\n >documentation</a\n >.\n
\n

\n
Step 5: Go live 🚀
\n
\n If you got through steps 1 to 4, you’ll shortly receive a confirmation email\n from us. But apart from that, you’re pretty much good to go at this point!\n With your approved shop, customers can start paying via Barion Smart Gateway.\n And how long does the approval process last? While it does require a few\n manual checks, most of our merchants’ shops get approved within 1-2 working\n days.\n
\n
\n And with that, you should know everything about becoming a Barion merchant.\n Ready to take the first step?\n
\n","Default":"

","hu":"
Ide johet akarmi magyrul\t
"},"category":{"@type":"@builder.io/core:LocalizedValue","en":"How to","hu":"Magyarul"},"descriptionpreview":{"@type":"@builder.io/core:LocalizedValue","en":"Unbeatable fees, better insights, and a smooth integration process: these are just a few of the reasons why business owners choose Barion Smart Gateway for accepting payments.
